Fish storage

Ideally fish should be prepared on the day of purchase. However, if the following rules are applied, it can also be stored in the refrigerator without hesitation:

  • Fresh fish

  • Fresh fish should be placed in a glass or a porcelain dish, covered with foil and put into the refrigerator. Bought fish must not remain in the packaging, but be stored in a neutral container immediately after purchasing.

  • Smoked fish

  • Smoked fish is processed in a natural, traditional and careful way which allows it to be kept longer. It can be stored for several days in the refrigerator without hesitation.

  • Fish salads

  • Fish salads, prepared with or without preservatives, are to be stored in the refrigerator. Only fish salads without preservatives are offered at NORDSEE.
