Organic – NORDSEE products with that natural quality |
The organic salmon (salmo salar) from NORDSEE is farmed in large offshore enclosures near the craggy coast of Ireland. These enclosures are approved and controlled as one of four European certified organic producers. The clean, and due to the gulf stream not too cold, water possesses a high flow velocity. This means the salmon must swim more and they grow at a slower rate. Therefore, with a fat content of 10-12% they are somewhat leaner than the conventionally farmed salmon for example that of Norway. In addition the volume density is lower in the ecological aquaculture than in the conventional as a maximum quantity of 10 kg fish per cubic meter of water is permitted.
In accordance with the NORDSEE quality guarantee the use of synthetic additives, chemicals, antibiotics, growth modulators and genetically changed organisms is not permitted on the salmon farms. Synthetic colourants and additives are not used. The processing of salmon is effected carefully in certified sites. At NORDSEE you recieve your salmon whole and practically free of bones either smoked or as a fillet. |
